Titanium Shoulder Fixation Plate
The actual titanium plate that was surgically implanted in Rob’s shoulder for 19 years, after he broke his shoulder at the end of his bicycle round-trip Tokyo → Kyoto → Tokyo (April 2006). A curved, multi-hole titanium osteosynthesis plate, now removed.
It pairs directly with the Touring Mapple atlas — the two objects are the two halves of one story: the ride, and the bone that broke at the end of it. The most personal and memorable object in the catalog — strange, intimate, and unforgettable.
