creating posts with quick

I'm really glad to have this working. I can now create posts from the web interface.

I just need to create one more class or so to actually save the posts.

Just a simple matter of programming!

Now for a quick run to the conveni before they close at 10pm.

quickly replacing quill

Wow that was pretty fast overall.

With a little help from

  • a framework I've used before
  • Copilot on VSCode
  • PHP 8.2
  • Dreamhost shared hosting

I was able to code up a reasonable replacement for Quill, which had tons of bells and whistles I never used, and login challenges I didn't need (because I don't always have my Github credentials on my phone)

I'm able to post this at https://quick.robnugen.com/poster/ and have it relatively quickly show up at https://www.robnugen.com/journal/

strange git behavior

(written 8:55 Monday 5 February 2024)

Last night I got Quick to save to the correct directory for my journal entries of that year and month, yay!

A git submodule for my journal entries monitors the directory but amazingly the files written to journal/2024/02 don't appear when I git status anywhere in that submodule.

What perplexing behavior.. I look forward to finishing the final steps that allow posts through Quick to appear on my journal.

Haha: it was because I had * in my ~/.gitignore file.
