The Secret Fire of Alchemy reads like a newer, more vibrant version of Autobiography of a Yogi. Kevin’s stories are more scandalous while not revealing, more vulnerable in showing his repeated successes and failures. This inspired me to be more wholly myself, accepting of my failures of the past and keep trying anyway.

Kevin’s book and travels cover myriad esoteric topics and even spans lifetimes. It’s by far the largest book I’ve read in over a year; I usually just doom-scroll looking for dopamine. Kevin’s book provided such a rich portrayal of his life that I quickly devoured the book to follow the tales of the flawed protagonist for whom I was rooting the entire time!

Kevin’s book inspired me to meditate, find my courage to trust life, and do the scary thing anyway. It’s been three weeks since I finished The Secret Fire of Alchemy.
