Entries this day: forgot-my-paper-at-toy-store fun-day-at-work heavy-backpack made-pushups-counter normal-rain-shower forgot my paper at toy store 18:41 Tuesday 12 May 2015 JSTToday I found a little computer touch screen terminal in Ebisu station: "Route Finder" Hmm! Well in time for the olympics! I decided to test the machine by entering the two farthest cities I could think of at the moment: Wakkanai and Nagasaki. Now I realized Kagoshima would be further than Nagasaki. Next week, machine, be ready! I showed it to the guy at the toy store, but then forgot to grab it on my way out. D'oh! permalinkfun day at work 17:35 Tuesday 12 May 2015 JSTToday we had a meeting that we should have held some time ago! It was the first of what I hope will be weekly meetings. なちゃん translated and we got a lot done, including translating some things that I hadn't had translated before so couldn't do the work! Hopefully we'll be aable to chew through the backlog of tickets and they'll be happy and I'll feel helpful/productive/happy yay! permalinkheavy backpack 21:44 Tuesday 12 May 2015 JSTOur office space is being reduced from 4 desks to 2, so three old computers were being tossed. I grabbed two of them (Dell Precision M4500, its power supply, bluetooth mouse, its power supply, and white plastic Macbook), so now have three laptops in my backpack. Supa heavy! I plan to put Ubuntu on one or both of them. The Dell boots fine into Windows, so I downloaded latest Ubuntu and plan to toss it onto my usb keychain and wipe the disk then install Ubuntu and play with encrypted partitions and such. This begins my adventure away from buying any more Mac hardware. I'll put Unity on the Dell and try to do all my Unity dev there. The Macbook didn't boot, but I didn't have a power supply for it; I'm sure I have one at home though; we'll see what's on there and probably give it an Ubuntu makeover as well! 23:23Looks like Lin wants the Dell. She's such a windows fangirl. permalinkmade pushups counter 07:28 Tuesday 12 May 2015 JSTPushups with Friends inexplicably stopped counting after 1923 pushups in one month, so I am writing my own. https://github.com/thunderrabbit/pushups-counter-js No readme yet as of this writing, but it's backed by parse.com It saves each pushup one by one, but I want to add a local counter and then send them all up at once, to save wear and tear on internets and on my parse budget (currently $0). Until I get that feature worked out, I shant link it directly, but you can see it at /samples/javascript/pushup-counter-js/index.html on this domain. just don't tell anyone yet. :-) (actually there's a 70% chance I'll forget to incorporate it before I upload everything and it might get overwritten. I gotta jet to work now so hopefully I remember later!) later! permalinknormal rain shower 21:56 Tuesday 12 May 2015 JSTIt's raining a bit tonight. They're calling it a "typhoon" for some reason. I'm like >_> ... where? There are no garbage cans blowing across the street; no tree branches destroying houses; no power outage anywhere... You call this a storm??? 23:01Okay okay so the wind blew the rain cover off my bag (twice) and destroyed my umbrella. permalinkprev day next day |
