Entries this day: dev-environment fast-train-to-fukuura fucking-finder kq-kawasaki-construction dev environment ##15:00 Wednesday 17 December 2014 JST## Got a pretty good start on setting up local dev environment for CB dev. Alfonzo gave me a huge head start by sending a virtualbox image of the environment. I cloned the code from git repo and when I edit locally it saves to the virtual computer. I've gotten over the initial bewilderment of a computer running on my computer, but it's still pretty cool. Now just gotta make the changes and send the code to git repo so Alfonzo can deploy (or show me how). permalinkfast train to fukuura ##15:56 Wednesday 17 December 2014 JST## Sweet this Limited Express train is fun to ride as it whizzes past like 7 stations between KQ Kawasaki and Yokohama (sorry, Travis). I might try to ride in the very front (passenger) seat next time. It features big windows to see out front. To be honest, I've never really liked riding trains from KQ Kawasaki; there are several lines which use the same set of platforms so I can't just jump on any train that comes by. Plus the trains range from local (and hit every station) to limited express (and skip most stations), so even if I'm on the right line, I might take "forever" to get there or miss the station completely. So I guess i'm saying I don't like it because I have to pay attention to what I'm doing haahaah permalinkfucking finder ##21:56 Wednesday 17 December 2014 JST## More than once in recent memory, Finder has hung when trying to load images. It responds in every other way, but simply refuses to display the files in the Finder window where they should be displayed. Why? It's (fortunately) not the (SSD) drive dying; Emacs loads the list of files immediately, but Finder just hangs. Even Terminal displays them instantly. And it's not like there's a million files. In these cases, there are six (6) and two (2) files, respectively, less than 2MB each. permalinkkq kawasaki construction ##23:20 Wednesday 17 December 2014 JST## permalinkprev day next day |
