Entries this day: Anniversary_of_Death Change,_Winds_of Goin'_back_to_work Hee_hee!! Just_about_home Kinda_early_tomorrow Anniversary of Death 3:53pm JST Sunday 3 January 2010 (day 14529) Death and Takeshi's wife Yuko are celebrating their one year anniversary together. Here on earth, men from my I-group supported Takeshi at the ceremony which featured about 30 people, 20 of whom spoke for about five minutes about how the year has been for them. Overall, I found it interminable, but the people who cried brought through me some compassion for their experience. I met a Jesuit priest named Scott something with whom I chatted for most of the after-ceremony meal, paid for by everyone's donations at the funeral a year ago (maybe 500 in attendance). permalinkChange, Winds of 4:14pm JST Sunday 3 January 2010 (day 14529) On the way there and back, I rode the train with David; we talked about upcoming societal changes, including economy and "2012" which I basically said I had heard three general things:
He said a friend of his said a big change is coming soon. I guessed either
Hopefully the second one. I think that would be best for us. Seems like that would let humans take care of our own problems. The first option seems more like "come save us!" and the last option would probably lead to us taking care of ourselves, but with a bloody revolution in the interim. permalinkGoin' back to work 4:17pm JST Sunday 3 January 2010 (day 14529) Headed to work now; I planned to go after Takeshi's thing, but forgot about that when I was
getting ready, so I didn't bring my computer. Gah. Had to head back to get my machine. Am now on
the train listening to "Black Number 1" by .... um... (*) Ah, not Thorn. The band is Type O Negative. I bought this album a long time ago (back at 1/2 Price Books on Waugh Drive back in like... 1997 or so. 1993? Well, it wasn't before then cause the album was released in August 1993, according to Wikipedia. I keep noticing I want to get an email back from Yukiko. Do I like her? What's going on here? I don't even know her!! Last thing I wrote included
Hey Yukiko!!
Thank you for chatting with me so long on New Year's day!!!
I watched The Reader, and can't say it was my favorite movie in the world, but certainly interesting
characters.
Oh, so also i wanted to suggest you do not watch Pulp Fiction; it's full of wanton violence, so
unless you like that stuff, don't watch the movie without me there to cover your eyes. :-)
Love Love

Hee hee!! 7:50pm JST Sunday 3 January 2010 (day 14529) I'm excited! Couple weeks ago, I broke off part of my toenail running up the steps in Kyoto station. I noticed yesterday that it's lifted away from my toe.. The toenail is still in place, but only attached on the left side of my toe, not the right. Paola, my yoga instructor said, "you're just as excited as a kid at Christmas." Yes! permalinkJust about home 11:18pm JST Sunday 3 January 2010 (day 14529) Got to work right around 5pm and left a bit after 10pm. Got nearly a full page of fixes fixed, covering about 5 pages on the website. I made one pair of changes on two different pages, and need to make them on one more slightly different page tomorrow. I think it's only different because it was written at a different time. Man we shoulda been more careful with duplicating code. There's scads of it, and little differences between them all. I worked last week at merging some of the pages to use a parent object via PHP class _____ extends ______. Finished two pages that way, but not sure that I'll have time to do any others before this shiz is due on the fifth. permalinkKinda early tomorrow 11:25pm JST Sunday 3 January 2010 (day 14529) Tomorrow I gots to go to the bike parking lot at 6am, and from there plan to go straight to work. I have the keys so I can go in early. But fuck it's COLD grrrrr. Maybe I'll get to bike parking at 5:30am and oh man but that's only 4.5 or 5 hours to sleep... sigh. permalinkprev day next day |
