Entries this day: Today

Today

2:51am JST Sunday 7 December 2008 (day 14137)

For the record, I don't really feel like writing.

I woke up having had dreams about work, and wanted to go to work to work on it. I didn't actually go to work to work, but I went to my studio (*) to work on Marble Track Three.

(*) studio = chest of drawers with blue cloth tarp on it and two walls.

That pretty much lasted all day. I enjoyed staying at home, working on MT3. I took a few hundred (?) pics, including starting to build a crane and now have 4.5 tracks on the base, and one of the tracks is longer than just a single pair of popsicle sticks.

It's been difficult to make the marble track *work*, and have pipe cleaner guys do the construction. They are just so slow and picky! I'm glad I have the crane idea to help with construction. I'm envisioning a speedy motion building process, whereby it looks like the whole thing was stop action, time lapse photography.

That should make construction faster.

Ami came over today briefly and we romped.

It's cold today! Grrrr I hate cold weather.

I've decided to get serious about studying Japanese. Later. Like when I get back from Kagoshima, I'll use my free time and funding to just focus on studying Japanese.

Got a chat message from Tariq asking how game design is going.

11:34 PM istassociates: I got a couple of targets done, any progress on your end?
  busy?
me: Yes, but nothing that I can actually show yet
11:35 PM designing the internals (in my mind)
istassociates: Ill send you the .fla of the targets tell me what you think
 me: cool
 istassociates: still working on it
  but itll be done soon
 me: sweet
11:36 PM istassociates: btw, I dont know what you're thinking but i was really really motivated about this after our last meeting
 me: :-)
awesome! (I hadn't really thought about the game since then)
istassociates: it seems like we have a good logical approach behind the scoring system
me: I am glad to have a simpler programming model on it
  yes exactly
11:37 PM istassociates: that will allow for easier adjustments in difficulty
me: I should have something to show by tomorrowish (I hope!)
I can just email it to you then (if I have anything...)
istassociates: and in terms of gameplay, I cant wait to try it
me: yay! (you ain't the only one!)

Sumpin' like that.

So now, actually, while my 947 pictures are being uploaded to backup.dreamhost.com (and tomorrow to Amazon S3), I've been working on laying out ideas for the game. But now, bedtime.
