Beans

8:46am JST Saturday 6 September 2008 (day 14045)

Worked a bit (!) on Colleen's painting this morning. Oh, and I cleaned up the pencil lines I drew on the canvas. I'm likely to start layin' down some colors on it tonight.

Matteo!

8:48am JST Saturday 6 September 2008 (day 14045)

Got a gentle prod on the shoulder as I was stepping from local to express in Jiyugaoka. Turned around to see what I had forgotten. Matteo!! I definitely hadn't forgotten him, and was happy to get a bit of an update. They moved closer to Shin Maruko, and Hitoe is studying to be a nurse.. No longer leading lost Japanese across Europe, though I must say that job seemed a lot cooler. He's working 6 days a week (and going crazy); 3 or 4 lessons today in Italian culture until 4pm. He actually did most of the questioning; found out where I live and heard about my housemates.. That reminds me; I want to make a record of my housemates... I can make a section called Peeps in my wiki. That seems appropriate. I guess I should get permission to put various pics up, but.

Cindy next to me totally missed a target by miles. She drew a bridge when the target was fish being poured out of a net.

Then we did the next target.

Oh snap! She had nailed it!

Interesting that she had ended her first target session, and then picked it back up again and drew the bridge-like structure.

In the same way that I meditate, I've got a lot of data flowing (in the "right" mindset) for a while, and then my mind is all over the place analyzing and such.

6:43pm JST Saturday 6 September 2008 (day 14045)

We played The Bone Game (not sure if it'll be on da 'pedia), and my team got point only when I was the chooser, or if I was patting the chooser's shoulders in an optimistic manner. Other than those time, we lost over and over. Hmmmm.

a new friend

8:21am JST Sunday 7 September 2008 (day 14046)

On the train last night a little kid got on and was determined to find a window so he culd watch out the back of the train. He din't find a space available, so I relinquished my space for him. He said clearly in English, "thank you!" and i was like, "sure!" As I got off the train in Musashi-Kosugi, he goes, "see you!" and I mirrored his enthusiasm, "see you!" and he came to the side window to wave bye to me. I matched his wave and waved bigger as the train rolled away, finally using my umbrella as a wave extension, though he may have been too far away to see it. In any case, I made a new friend. I'll be amazed if I ever see him again.
