Entries this day: AAM_Dream CRYing Cheese_bread Gone!!,_Akami Impeach_Bush,_please New_canvii PHP_frameworks gravity-lamp no_zzzz scribefire woohoo-ufos-in-2013 AAM Dream 5:26am JST Thursday 21 February 2008 (day 13847) The main guy arrived and walked onto the rugby field as the crowd looked on with great anticipation. This began a new era, in which the final season would be determined by fate. He waved his arms in a way that meant nothing to me, but the rugby announcer said, "this means the seasons final will last six weeks from here on out, and depending on numerous factors, those six weeks may include just two games, or as many as 20, which would simply be a repeat of the main season." The crowd went bonkers; some drunk with excitement and some drunk with outrage at this decision. But then the final question was answered: the season would start tomorrow. As thousands in the crowd shifted from their previous state to unsupportive of such a decision, for it would mean their favorite games would not occur, there was a hush among the crowd: would the players simply refuse to play? Despite the weight of the crowd, a few players began to move out of the crowd and into the field proper. From three large groups of people they came, and when the third group began to take longer than expected, I went down to check on them, but it turned out they were late just because they had had a longer way to walk. As they came around the corner and walked past me, I greeted them "hello boys; glad you could join." They too, were glad; they would be making history. I wondered how well I would be able to help them; I was to be the coach. Or perhaps just their spiritual coach or cheerleader.. They had an actual playing coach who would teach technique, and I would teach connection and spirit and such. The time for the first game was already upon us, so we went into the stadium and tossed our 3D numbers into the corner which was actually the end zone, marked with chalk. 5:50am JST Original version as written with eyes closed: The main guy arrived and walked onto the rugby field as the crowd looked on with great anticipation. I cried, slept, dreamt that I was approached by my taxi driver to star in a porn movie, and then tried meditating again around 7:30. Pointless. permalinkCheese bread 8:35am JST Thursday 21 February 2008 (day 13847) Went downstairs for breakfast of bread with cheese (real bread, fairly real cheese) and Mario
(from Austria) came down (from Juergen's old room); he was like, My three slices of bread were in the toaster at the time; I woulda given him one, but they weren't ready yet. Then he was like, "are you in a hurry or can I use the shower?" "no, no problem; use it." When he came back down, the toasted melty delicious bread was waiting. "Rob?" he crept slowly into the kitchen. "This is Sachiko..." he was carrying his um, friend on piggyback! hahahahahahaha I think she was embarrassed to be seen, but I'm quite happy to see her here; for a long time, Ami has been the only visitor this house has had. A bit later, Natalia (from Spain) came down and she jumped a bit when she saw me in the kitchen. She was funny, "Wow, I didn't expect to see you, like the daddy of the house, you are should be still sleeping..." hahha; I told her about my recent sleep schedule: asleep at midnight the past two nights; awake at 6:30am yesterday; 5:30am today. Didn't tell her about the crying, though. permalinkGone!!, Akami 10:06am JST Thursday 21 February 2008 (day 13847) I just went to Lawson in Shibuya to show Akami my shirt (she said she could make me a shirt).... and Tsunashimasan said she doesn't work there any more!!!!! Gah!! She's been transferred to the store in Kabukicho (part of Shinjuku), which isn't all that far away, but farther than I can make in an hour. If I knew exactly where it was, and knew the route (including which train doors would stop closest to the closest station exit to her store), I could probably get there and back in one hour, but with no room to chat with Akami. permalinkImpeach Bush, please 4:52pm JST Thursday 21 February 2008 (day 13847) I'm really glad to hear about some high level calls to begin impeachment hearings for George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. [Vaillancourt] was fairly thundering by the time that he pronounced that not only should Bush and Cheney be impeached, but also they should be tried as war criminals in a Nuremburg style trial for crimes against humanity. He flatly stated that the war in Iraq has provided grounds for war crimes charges against the President and Vice President. And there was not one word of protest from a single committee member. They may or may not support this resolution to impeach, but there seems to be no one left with a credible argument to defend Bush/Cheney.permalink New canvii 9:37pm JST Thursday 21 February 2008 (day 13847) Busted out of work at like 6:45 and met Ami at 7pm on Yamanote platform in Shibuya. Funny thing:
as I arrived at 6:55pm, she was already there, reading her book. I snuck carefully by to the very
end of the platform (246 side, so the end of the train as headed toward Harajuku) so she couldn't
see me. Then, when the next train came (happened to be right at 7), I noted she checked her watch
and prolly wondered why I was all but late, I joined the crowd coming off the train and was
all, She was like, "what??? where were you??" I told her the truth, and then lied that I had been in Shinagawa - no, Hammamatsucho - no, Kagoshima. Funny. We went to Shinjuku and got several things at Seikaido: a 10% cash back card for 500 yen, 10 little canvases, and even thinner markers than the ones I used to draw "dr cutie" Click to unzoom the thumbnail. permalinkPHP frameworks 9:47pm JST Thursday 21 February 2008 (day 13847) I imagine this will be yet another unfinished idea of mine, but for the past several months, I've been looking for a PHP framework that I like. (It used to be that I wanted a Perl framework, but I've grown fond of PHP. I still feel icky about it though; PHP is so loosey goosey!!!) Okay, so anyway, I just set up php.robnugen.com, at which there is currently *nothing*, BUT I want to install several PHP frameworks and see if that gives me a better sense of which one I want to use for the next couple of web projects I do. But first, dinnertime. Ami is making ramen; I'm sure she will be done sooooon. permalinkgravity lamp ##17:57 Thursday 21 February 2008 Clay Moulton - Core77's Greener Gadgets Design Competition 2008 Gravia is an LED-lit floorlamp energized by people. To light Gravia, the user places a mass approximately 48" above the ground, that, in falling, powers a mechanism, generating electricity. Gravia harnesses the potential energy imparted by the user, rather than relying on any existing electrical infrastructure. This is a must have item. Too bad it doesn't seem to be for sale yet! I'd like to have a version that's as easy to use as an hour glass. Just flip it over and light pours out! permalinkno zzzz 3:02am JST Friday 22 February 2008 (day 13848) Zonked out sleepin' at around 11:11pm and didn't wake up until 2am when Ami woke up all, "oops; it's 2am," and headed home. I actually don't know how close to 2am it was, but I've been not sleeping for a while, and finally got up cause I couldn't sleep. These are some of the things that have crossed my mind:
scribefire ##17:18 Thursday 21 February 2008 ScribeFire (previously Performancing for Firefox) is a full-featured blog editor that integrates with your browser and lets you easily post to your blog. You can drag and drop formatted text from pages you are browsing, take notes, and post to your blog. This feature is something that I wanted to pluck from Flock and move to FF. Now it seems that I can. AND, the interface for ScribeFire is way smoother than the one on Flock. (e.g. just enter the blog URL and it determines the type and the api entry point; e.g. start a blog entry and then setup the u/p to the blog) permalinkwoohoo ufos in 2013 ##17:25 Thursday 21 February 2008 Source Reveals Secret UFO Meeting at U.N. A date of 2013 was given as the time for official disclosure and/or when extraterrestrials show up in an unambiguous way. In the interim there will be acclimation related releases of information. Importantly, the source revealed that the events leading up to official disclosure will involve more ethically oriented extraterrestrials, and they will not pose a military threat to the world. I can't really understand the POV (author vs audience) of this article; it seems like it's a copy of a transcript or something.. but anyway, I like this kinda thing when dates are given.. Nice juicy dates that aren't too far away. I can wait until 2012. Er, I mean 2013. ##7 November 2014 Well, UFOs haven't arrived. Here's a snapshot of the site linked above, which seems to be slowly vanishing. archive.today 7 Nov 2014 snapshot of https://www.ufodigest.com/news/0208/unmeeting.html permalinkprev day next day |
