On Shinkansen

I'm on the shinkansen, headed to nagoya to see Cheerful Dancing Fellows (CDF (Crazy Dancing Fellows)), my crazy class from PB 49th voyage. This will be the second time we've met since the voyage!

Super thankful to Ami for helping me get the right tickets for this trip, and for helping me fiture out how to get from the shinkansen station in Nagoya to the airport. (or just knowing that the airport is where I need to go, which I didn't know before last night.)

I barged into the seat area of this girl to get a pic of Francois on the shinkansen. It was a closeup pic, so I don't know if one will be able to tell that it *is* the shinkansen, but I know.

What's really awesomely crazy: we are between Shinagawa ad Shin Yokohama, and going next to my old hook along Tokyu Toyoko line. I saw the bridge over Tamagawa that I've crossed many times (on TJ Bike when i would ride to Gaba) and we're about to cross Tsurumi River.

And now we're going into the tunnel where Dan and I made 10 yen bets on which way the trains would come next.

I missed the train by 10 seconds and ended up being late by 31 minutes. They waited for 30 minutes, and then split.. sent my phone number by email and Yama called me back on Naho's phone.

The food here at the hotel is all food of the day. Whatever they could catch is what they serve. Though the hotel is not *that* small, but apparently it used to be: he would fish and she would cook; now they buy locally caught fish and they both cook. perhaps.

Anyway, I have no idea what we ate, but dinner was huge, and that was *after* chowing snacks and stuff after Naho drove us here.

Good times at the Second Meeting of C(razy|heerful) Dancing Fellows. Special thanks to Naho for organizing this hotel and researching things we can do tomorrow. Special blessings to Aki who couldn't come because she is studying for a big test tomorrow, and to Kazue who couldn't come because she hurt her leg and is expecting a grandchild soon.

We're way down in the tip of a peninsula that I've seen many times on the map, and have wondered what it would be like. Now I know.

Ami asked me to take a bunch of pictures, but there really wasn't all that much to see. Perhaps that's what I should have been photographing. I got a pic of Francois overlooking the sea (actually he was looking at the camera and the sea was looking at his side) and some of the group; tomorrow I will take some of the other scenery in Nagoya.

Shunji asked if I have a girlfriend, and I told them about Ami. He asked if I've kissed her, and I said, "only one time," and stuck with that story, including telling them I'll email them if we have kiss number two tomorrow.

We nominated Aki to be the hostess of CDF's Third Meeting next summer in Hokkaido. Naho will call Aki to let her know.
