Entries this day: Project SmarterChild cks interesting_ideas Project 10:55am JST Thursday 15 March 2007 (day 13504) Project is still pending, but in a good way. Tariq has another meeting tomorrow. We three are meeting today in a few, to hopefully get our ducks sorted and source code straight as we barrel into the future. I backed up my data and brought my (*) I'm not sure why I always think it's 100 megs. (So far), I never think 5GB is small (for a small external drive), but then I quickly think of the drive as small again and think it's 100 MB. permalinkSmarterChild 9:58am JST Thursday 15 March 2007 (day 13504) I often see SmarterChild smiling in my buddy list, and sometimes I poke him with "are you smart yet?" and quickly find that he isn't, yet, smart. But yesterday I discovered a reminder function in SmartChild, which actually seems a bit useful. It's not perfect because it doesn't take into consideration my timezone when telling me what time a thing is scheduled, nor does it understand anything but dates, hours and minutes. Like, I can tell it "remind me to go to bed in 5 minutes" and it will do fine. But it reminded me to meet Tariq today, and then I was like, "remind me in 1 week" but it didn't understand. "Remind me in 168 hours" worked fine. permalinkcks 11:20pm JST Thursday 15 March 2007 (day 13504) read DA more; go to a meeting or two What does success look like: work / life? (what will my work be? what will my life be?) write to Tariq re making good use of me while overseas The girl: shared activities not hidden better sex EAP employee assistance programs (E wellness P) permalinkinteresting ideas 1:02pm JST Thursday 15 March 2007 (day 13504) Meeting with Tariq was interesting partially in that we didn't do all that much except chat and clear out some of the old source code that's been piling up as versions change. ( I gotta get subversion figured out ) Interesting story differences: My dad said don't forget your family, and there's plenty to do back in the US. Tariq's dad said, "never look back." Hmmm. Tariq was also telling me about how he/one must sell out (my words) a bit in order to have the resources to kick back later. Like having the fashionable appearance that "rich people" appreciate.. expensive ties and cufflinks and shit. Hmmm. permalinkprev day next day |
