Entries this day: Akiko Things_to_do Work Akiko 12:25pm JST Saturday 24 February 2007 (day 13485) Just had three lessons, with a woman named Akiko being the star of the second. She speaks French a bit, and the first time I met her (at Shibuya), she was like, "I speak French well, but now I want to speak English, but I'm afraid of losing my French," or some such like that. I remember being really excited about this, and I wanted to speak French with her, save for the detail that I know so little French that I can't say "my French sucks" as much as I can say "I don't speak French," which is about the only thing I can say in French. Anywayssssss, she's wonderfully attractive in her looks and mannerisms and humor. I'd love to go out with her, but somehow, there seems to be a block of sorts; maybe it's simply a few difficulties in communication; maybe it's a ·úÁ° shell that would be challenging to overcome. So, I simply enjoyed chatting with her, and encouraged her to begin planning her new life in France, because that's where she wants to go. I gave her the advice Joe McMoneagle gave to me: "Just begin planning." permalinkThings to do 12:51pm JST Saturday 24 February 2007 (day 13485) My things to do list included writing to Wende for her birthday. I did that; I may remember/choose to post it here. Now I've added look into subVersion to store stuff on my website.
HI Wende!
Happy Birthday! How are things with you? I think about you often and hope things are just peachy.
I'm doing well in Tokyo. Students often ask where I'm from, and I always say Texas. Sometimes they
ask more and I give mental blessings to you as I talk about the life I gave up to come here. I
wonder how our lives would be different!
I've not heard from you in a while; for a bit, I was afraid I had made you upset; one of the twins
said you were just busy. I would love to know what you're up to!
As you may have heard, I broke my shoulder in May last year. I'm about 1/2 way done paying for
that. No insurance = whoops!
A friend of my roommate is starting a company, making a video game or two or three. I've been
working with him and one other guy to make samples to entice Sony or some other big boys to give us
big money. If all goes as planned, I'll double my salary in a couple of months, and be back up to
what I was making at FSD.
I'm not sure when I will come back to visit, but I will come back before the end of the known universe.
Happy Happy Birthday!
Love Love

Work 12:48pm JST Saturday 24 February 2007 (day 13485) Just now, as I was writing, using my wireless keyboard on my lap, Michael was all, like, "hey man, I was thinking about getting a Mac, but I just don't know blah blah, but I see you've got the wireless keyboard and you're writing while it sitting on your lap. damn!" "Dawg, this thing can write from Michiko's desk" And then I prefaced it, well, it can from that far if there is a line of sight. It can if there's not direct line of sight: This is working from her desk. no worries. Hi Michiko this is Rob writing to you from your desk. Where are you????permalink prev day next day |
