Entries this day: Best_lessons Free_lunch Techknowlogy UFOs Work benkyou Best lessons 11:24am JST Saturday 10 February 2007 (day 13471) Just had the two best lessons ever. First was a guy with whom I drew an exquisite corpse (the term Matt The Artist taught me on PB last year). He used to work in Bunkamura, a museum - art - なんとか complex in Shibuya. He wanted to learn how to draw more freely, so I told him about the exquisite corpse technique.. and we did one! At first he would only draw closed rounded shapes around what I had drawn, but then a bit later he was drawing lines and angled shapes. Cool stuff. AND, he drove from SF to Key West and back.. Nice. The next student is a new mother (with little Yuri sleeping in front pouch thing) who agrees with my disagreement over Bush's kill-everything policy, and who intends to teach her baby English and Mandarin, and who really liked my idea about days old celebrations. She is 11299 days old today. I need to write up a bit more about it, and tweak my site to account for time zones. 2:00pm JST Saturday 10 February 2007 (day 13471) Saw Naori as she was leaving Jamie's lesson; I nearly have a crush on her, but I'm sure I'll get over it sometime soonish. permalinkFree lunch 11:41am JST Saturday 10 February 2007 (day 13471) At the conveni just now I bought some chocolate, jello-stuff, and a "burrito" type thing. The clerk asked if I wanted the burrito heated and I was like, yah, and the other clerk helpfully popped it in the microwave. Before she scanned it. I paid for the rest, asked for the receipt (as I always do) and picked up the burrito from the next clerk. Free burrito. Mmmmm. permalinkTechknowlogy 9:53am JST Saturday 10 February 2007 (day 13471) Um, I asked the receptionist how to turn off the beeps on my electronic dictionary. She wasn't able to figure it out, so I messed with it for about the same amount of time (actually a bit less), and I got it. Is it just a knowledge of how technology "should" work that allowed that? Why couldn't she read the kanji and find whatever means "settings" or some such? permalinkUFOs 8:48am JST Saturday 10 February 2007 (day 13471) Have there been more than the "usual" number of UFO sightings recently? I seem to have noticed more. I really look forward to world government confirmation... permalinkWork 5:02pm JST Saturday 10 February 2007 (day 13471) Just had a cool lesson and then a stinky lesson. Next student is late. permalinkbenkyou 9:59am JST Saturday 10 February 2007 (day 13471)
