Entries this day: Dream Gateway_data Zzzz_Colleenie_chatty_mappy_maps olyrafahsolidarity-struggle-persists Dream 10:14am JST Thursday 24 August 2006 Inside a rock quarry home with my father Obi-wan Kenobi, I was coming back home from work when all the cars in the large parking lot seemed to be gone. Like 90 percnt of the cars were taken during the day. I couldn' find mine where I usually parked it, so I called my dad and he was like, "actually I moved it today; stay there and I'll come show you where it is." So I stayed there and he arrived, taking me down to a short cut path to where he had parked the car. However, the short cut was blocked, so he was like, "okay, this is an even more secret short cut" and he began to drive backwards down into a tunnel that was a railroad line, though he had taken no precaution to ensure a train wasn't on it. We got well into the tunnel and a train was on its way, so we picked the car up onto a little ledge up on the side, overlooking the train line. The train got closer and closer, though we could not see it due to the track curving out of sight, but the light was getting brighter, and I looked back to make sure my dad was all prepared, and he was gone. Vanished somewhere leaving me in nearly plain view of the train. The train turned out to only be two cars long. I was certain the driver did not see me, but the conductor in back would have a longer time to gaze back my direcion given the track went straight for a while before curving out of sight the other direction. It appears I must have been spotted, for as the lights dwindled a large goose came up through that tunnel, ready to pluck me off the side of the wall as a bite sized morsel, but my dad was on the goose's back, trying to reign it back and ultimately kill it. I noted that its eyes were critical to its abilities, so I shouted for my dad to stab its eyes out, which he did and the goose was destroyed. I climbed up and over the wall and over the ledge to safety on the other side, away from where trains could see us. My mom, Leia, was there, generally supportive of my father's technique for saving me, etc. I went to sleep and soon noticed my pet had come to sit on my chest. It could feel its weight and fuzziness. I didn't remember having a pet anymore, nor if it was a rabbit or cat, so this woke me up. It turned out to be my pillow covered in janette's pillow case. permalinkGateway data CD/track Wave I / Discovery 5: Exploration, Sleep body position 25 degrees upright against pillow CD player Panasonic SL-CT510 headphones Audio-Technica ATH-T3 ambient temperature 30 C clothing underwear working nostril(s) right emotional state fine physical a bit tired head a bit headachey stomach hungry-ish pain/soreness left shoulder, lower back ¤¤¤¿¤¤ phone/door off/open time allowed hour ambient light daylight ambient noise highway 246 date/time 10:46am JST Thursday 24 August 2006 location Sakurashinmachi apartment 11:26am JST Thursday 24 August 2006 pretty good. I've finished my map thing just enough to show a few people the first 5 days of my TJ Bike journey: /cgi-bin/maps?journeyID=1 Intentionally not linking it because I don't want everyone/thing hitting it just yet. Oh, and it doesn't work in Internet Explorer. Get Firefox. permalinkolyrafahsolidarity struggle persists ##11:37 Thursday 24 August 2006 from Rochelle: hello all! The teachers and their supporters continue to remain strong in the face of nightly acts of repression. The police and government goons shot up the transmitter for channel 9, shutting down the state tv that the the women from the movement had controlled since the 1st of August. Immediately stations all over the city were taken over. In the last two nights two teachers have been killed by government forces while protecting those stations. We have continued to post photos at... https://www.flickr.com/photos/72025498@N00/ Below please find words from two of the teachers here... hope everyone is well... rochelle "I received your message and wanted to write that the situation within the teacher's union is really difficult. We are living a terrible repression under Ulises Ruiz Ortiz's government. Today at 12:30 a.m. a concerted attack was launched against the teachers who were guarding the radio stations. 40 pickups full of police leveled their guns at our companions and fired without regard for who might be wounded or killed. During the attack one teacher (male) was killed and another (woman) wounded. "We are placing guards at each of our camps and in reality we are armed only with our conscience, reason and right. We ask anyone who can help us to please let others know about the situation we are living by any means at their disposal. "The daily reality that we live through in Oaxaca should be told, despite the media curtain that makes it difficult for even other Oaxacans to know the truth. "I would like it if [the university where I study] would raise its voice and let the world know about the situation, I would hope that their understanding of social problems would press them to help us, but it seems that the one-time leaders of social struggle have lost their voice." “In truth after last night we are afraid even though we don't say so. No one wants to be exposed but we are aware that we have to go forward until this is finished. The consensus without a doubt was that we go together to the end. We are all saddened by the attitude of Governor Ulises Ruiz Ortiz. Our leaders wanted us to participate in the strike in a limited, representative fashion in order to keep us safe, but we voted to strike as a group, to keep together. At this time there are very few around us who remain quiet and indifferent and we are aware of this. I can assure you that most have consciousness and awareness of what is happening. With respect to our personal security no-one, absolutely no-one is safe in the camps, but after our consensus decision I can assure you that we will continue to the end." permalinkprev day next day |
