DJ Audrey cancelled

10:40am AKDT Thursday 18 August 2005

Thank goodness I was woken up. I wanted to be up to meet Audrey on the top deck for her 6 hour DJ extravaganza.

- - - -

It's raining up on the top deck; Audrey's thing almost certainly got cancelled. I'm still glad to get outside, because, true to the comment made by one of the teachers on the 48th, we should "go outside every day; because some days it's easy to forget..."

I am also supposed to meet my class on the top deck, but that won't be happening, I'm sure.

Man, one day I'm going to get video of this ship.

Doo dee doooo

10:49am AKDT Thursday 18 August 2005

Four of my students were at a table on 7th floor, and they were doing some kind of project. They saw me and were like, "ah, oh, ah, ah" trying to not let me see. So I looked away like I hadn't seen them. "Doo dee dooooo."

Hot chocolate

Ah nice! I'm chillin' with Nicole and her class in Yacht Club and they've (she's) offered me hot chocolate!

Nicole goes, "how's your rabbit?" with a little bit of bite in her query that also asks, "why do you have that rabbit???"

Rumble

12:22pm AKDT Thursday 18 August 2005

Just about to go to my Cheerful Dancing Fellows class.

I was talking to Kuni and Brandt swooped in with onion rings and got a kiss on the cheek.

Wooooo.. I heard a bit of rumbling on the ice and was sure it must have been a bit of snow tumbling down. I didn't actually see anything, but I am sure that's what it was.

- - - -

Everyone was on top deck as we sailed super slowly into the fiord area. I really loved this line of ice, which looks to me like a water current boundary.

Topaz crew went to get a block of ice.

We all happily froze and cuddled on the top deck. Thanks to janette for her quilt!!!!

State of My Life Address

9:53am AKDT Thursday 18 August 2005

State of My Life

  1. My computer is not plugged in; when it shuts down I'll be done.

  2. I'm on P.B's 49th global voyage, and like that, it's basically over. I correctly predicted the last half would go by like SNAP!

  3. We have one last port tomorrow (Seward, Alaska) and, interestingly, I rarely used the pre-voyage research I obtained for a few of the ports. I can't think of any examples, at least.

  4. I've been hanging out a lot with Katt. She's cool.

  5. I've been stalked on and off during the voyage by Hitomi. Some days she is bearable and some days the opposite of bearable. For some reason it sees like most days she is unbearable.

  6. Carissa's parents are onboard. That's cool.

  7. There's a cat named George Meegan onboard. He's in Guiness Book of World Records for having walked the farthest (from bottom to top of the Americas along the western edge, with a dogleg around the perimeter of the southern, eastern, northern US states). He has a lot of stories to tell.

  8. I figured out my angle on long treks. If I walk 100+ miles, I will do it barefoot.

  9. Meegan says, "I'm not interested in learning Japanese; I have bigger fish to fry."

  10. I talked to him: told him of my skating accident, recovery, premonition and confirmation that I will do something for the world. He gave me a copy of his book (he brought four copies onboard) and gave me some ideas.

    1. be open to ideas
    2. stand silently with a string of people along the entire wall in Palestine.
    3. open a skate park in Palestine
  11. Part of my story includes Rebecca telling me that when I am ready, I can go into meditation and ask my angels what is my task. Why haven't I been ready?

  12. I have enjoyed sharing stories with Katt. She's pretty cool for a girl.

  13. I'm falling asleep.

  14. I figured out a few days ago that I like everything about myself except my sex addiction. That is the only thing for which I consistently lie. Tricksy bastard that.

For example, basically the only hidden entries in my journal are my exploits of who I chased (and who chased me) and who I kissed, etc.

  15. I wrote to Niveen recently. I'm not chasing her.

  16. Last night I went to Katt's RENT listening party and Kuni tusseled my hair and gently traced her fingernails on my ear. I basked in the good feeling and wanted her to want more specifically so I could turn her down.

After the last little incident where she enticed me to a private room where I was horrified to find Hitomi waiting... oh my god that was horrible.

    and soul purifying.

  17. kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  18. Definitely falling asleep.

george meegan education

pm AKDT Thursday 18 August 2005

Went to George Meegan's lecture on education. He is arguing that students should be taught / rewarded for more important things: Peace / Environment / Health / Social / Culture issues. Then only people who were *interested* in mathematics / science / literature / history should be taught that. And because they are interested, the classes could go much further.

He suggests people graduate after they collect a certain number of credits in each category, for life experiences. A trip around the world: Social-Culture-Environment-credits. Bake a cake that doesn't kill anyone: Health-credits. If you can ride a horse: Environment-credits.

People should be rewarded for what they can do, and not punished for what they can't do.

late night exquisite corpses

1:25am AKDT Friday 19 August 2005

I've been in 4 GET Street creating art with Matt The Artist, who has been on board teaching art classes which (in my story) consist of just saying "do what you feel like doing; there is no correct way to do art," painting various posters, and overseeing art projects like making trees (that are now on display somewhere (public radio station?) in New York City).

He donated a sheet of 100% rag watercolor paper (I was going to say "a piece of paper") a week ago or so and I put some lines on it, but then got too busy and didn't work on it for a while. I commented that I didn't think I'd be able to finish it before the end of the cruise. He was painting and I asked if I could borrow some of his ink.

"Of course."

At this point, we have worked together on two "Exquisite Corpses," a name I had never heard of, but just means tag-teaming on paintings. I started one and he had already started another. The only rules are there are no rules, and the result is total freedom of expression!! We are just creating for the pure joy of creation and I love it.

I just took pictures of my piece and our two pieces. They are not finished yet, but they could be.

A lot of shit is getting cancelled today because of rain. No DJ Audrey during fiord viewing. Probably no group photo.

My answer to the more-common question "what are you going to do after P.B?" has continued to be go to Palestine.
