Introduced to Benny's parents by Benny, and he was quite specifically more quiet and didn't interrupt me while I was saying HI to them. Afterward, he asked me about his performance, he was basically trying to calibrate his frequency of interrupting to a more sociable level. As I was answering him though, he started talking to his girlfriend. I was like, ah well.

Jen is feeling pooey today. She's zonked out on the train, feeling a little bit fluey. Well, she's as zonked as one can be on a train with people getting on and off and all the other commotion associated with a verbally silent AM train in Tokyo. Oh, except for the announcer guy on the loudspeakers. This guy is actually understandable.

(wow; that includes that I can understand him, but, the context is pretty well defined, plus they say the same stuff every time.

Tetsuya is leaving for OZ in 4 days. Jen thinks he's a bit nervous. We think he'll be fine.

Oh, I need to add to the money influx list: Takako gave me lesson fee plus transportation (for which I didn't ask, but am thankful) and Ayana bought me a cranberry cheesecake thing from Starbucks yesterday after she was late.

I don't understand exactly what Hitomi is trying to tell me, but something about what I told her when we first met in April. Hmm.

In other news, four million quintarks delivered on a change dish is funny.

In different news, I think I'm on a train that's about to get passed by a fast train. Past fast. A train that, had I known this line more completely, I would have gotten on in Yokohama. But I have a seat here.

仕事のあと、新宿で智子さんに会いまして、彼女の友だちも会いました。 今晩は彼のレストラント最後の日でした。 だから、智子さんは会いたがっていました。飲み物を一個飲んで、いろいろを 話して、友だちに「はじめまして」、そのあと「じゃあね」。

智子さんと新宿の七階の沖縄のレストラントで食べた。そこでトンカツと なんとかを食べた。そのあと、アイスを食べた。おいしかったです。

山手線で渋谷駅に行って特急とよこせんで武蔵小杉と元住吉に行った。

yo Daniel!!!!

Oh my gosh Daniel just called me; he's about to hop on the plane for Tokyo!!! This was not a 100% surprise phonecall; I knew he was coming, but I just had never written down *when* he was coming. Tomorrow we're going to hook up for dinner, and then he'll do his thing for a few days in Tokyo, then jet to Hong Kong (? (somewhere not in Japan)) and then come back for a few days actual hang out time with me! Whoohoo!

It was so interesting to hear a complete foreigner to Tokyo. He was like, "I think we're going to be staying in .. Shi-buka?" and I was like, "I've never heard of Shibuka; is it Shibuya?" "Yeah, that's it."

"Awesome. Shibuya is fucking convenient to my place." Upon reflection, I don't know why I said "fucking" instead of "super" or "incredibly" or "".

"Really? That's great!"

We're going to meet at Hachiko tomorrow night; might as well give him a taste of the culture instead of me getting lost trying to find his hotel.

I told him to ask for Shibuya Eki and then Hachiko. When he leaves his hotel, he should call me; it might take the same amount of time for us both to reach Hachiko.
