day with mikarin at yomiuriland

It was sprinkling while I walked to Yomiuriland this morning, arriving right at 10:30 to meet Mikarin. Sprinkly rain continued until a couple hours later, and rain kept Bandit from running, but also kept the crowds away.

Essentially zero lines on any of the rides, and got to ride/do most everything available except the haunted house. She said it was too scary to have to walk through it.

We met Kona, Ryuta, Rio, and Sakura in a group at the Petracycles, and ended up riding Looping Coaster with them, and later rode Looping Starship with the boys as Sakura and Rio watched and took photos and videos.

Mikarin and I rode her favorite spinning rocking ride, and then I rode it with Kona, Ryuta, Rio, and Sakura while Mikarin watched. Kona and I shouted "Mikako!!" repeatedly when we could see her from the ride. She smiled, then laughed, then ignored us.

We headed to Shakey's to meet Lin for buffet of pizza etc and now home, feeling very full.

invoked lucid dreams and a question

I woke up at 3:30 for an hour then went back to bed with the intention of having experience in the astral plane. I didn't feel as large vibrations as I ever have before, but I felt some vibrations and visualize myself looking into the bathroom mirror trying to imagine the cold sink in front of me and really feel the experience of being in front of the mirror, but I seemed to stay in my body.

At some point, I thought I was in front of a mirror and looking into it and began to see white light growing. I suspected I might be opening my physical eyes a bit and letting in light in the physical, but I am not sure.

At some points I recognized I was lucid dreaming and I enjoyed that as its own success. This is also the first time that I remember hearing myself snoring and the sound was incorporated into my lucid dream.

I'm really happy to have found this community and know that I have been super close to being fully conscious in the astral. At some point while reading over this subreddit, I saw the idea I understand to be

*During lucid dreaming, recognize your mind is generating the dream... and "deactivate"(?) the dream to find your perception clearly in the astral* (without the veil of the dream blocking my perception.)

put together cat house

This morning I woke up at 3:30 a.m. and put together our new cat house after having glued chopsticks to the edges of the wood so that the pieces would kind of fit together and lock themselves in place.

That took about an hour and I just took pictures.

script request to make photo names human readable

Hey Fred, can you make a Perl or BASH script for this?

User story:

1. Be me.
2. Take photos with (phone) camera.
3. They magically go up to photos.google.com
4. Visit photos.google.com and checkbox the ones I want in a zip file
5. Download zipfile photos.zip
6. Rename zipfile to 2021_jun_21_my_cool_topic.zip
7. unzip zipfile
8. Photos magically end up in 2021_jun_21_my_cool_topic/
9. Photos still have stupid filenames.
10. Rename photos to 2021_jun_21_my_cool_topic_variant_foo.jpg

Can you create a script that helps with steps 6-10, given the following inputs?

Human inputs:

1. location of photos.zip
2. value of $my_cool_topic

Computer inputs:

1. unique filenames inside zip.

Script pseudocode:

$TODAY = YYYY_mmm_dd format of today's date

Look for 4 digits at beginning of $my_cool_topic

If 4 digits are NOT there, prepend $TODAY to $my_cool_topic (comment) Now $my_cool_topic has a date prepended either by human at script starttime or by script during runtime

Rename photos.zip to $my_cool_topic.zip

Unzip $my_cool_topic.zip into $my_cool_topic/

visit $my_cool_topic/

prepend each filename with $my_cool_topic
